Learn how to view, update, and add related context to your decision records in IcePanel.

View decision records

To get started, head to the left-hand navigation bar and click the clipboard icon to open decision records.

Click the clipboard icon in the left navigation bar to open the decision records view.

Select a decision record

Once you're inside the decision records view, you'll see a timeline on the left, showing all previous records created in your organization. You can select a decision record to see its details, or search based on title.

View decision record details

Over on the right, you'll find all the context for the record you're viewing: the title, summary, status, related links, and sections for context, decisions, and any other information. These can be edited as long as the record is in progress or rejected.

View and edit details such as the name, description, and related links.

Update status of a decision record

To edit the status of a decision record, click on the status field to open the dropdown menu.

Select 'Approved' from the dropdown to mark this decision as finalized.

Notice how the timeline on the left updates automatically.

Click on another decision record in the timeline to navigate to a different entry.

For in-progress decision records, you can add related fields by clicking this plus icon next to 'Related'.

Click the plus icon next to 'Related' to add related links to this decision record.

From here, you can link an external URL, another decision record you've previously created, a diagram, or even a draft to provide additional context.

Choose from the dropdown to link external URLs, other decision records, diagrams, or drafts to provide additional context.
